Hello, We are MONITORAPP.
Even though it's May, I can already feel the energy of summer.
It may be a little hot, but I hope you enjoy a sunny spring day.
We're excited to announce our May Compliment Relay, a monthly program that encourages colleagues to actively compliment their coworkers and create a positive work culture. This month, we're honoring Derek Kim, a member of the Content Creation team in Marketing! Let's get to know him in an interview!
Q1. How long have you been with MONITORAPP and what do you do?
I'm in my third year at MONITORAPP. I am the team leader of the Content Creation Team, which was newly created at the end of last year.
The Content Creation Team is in charge of planning the overall content services produced within MONITORAPP,
including external materials, websites, brochures, videos, and other offline and online exhibition content, web portals used by MONITORAPP's customers,
and web content for MONITORAPP's internal marketing and sales operations.
Q2. You've been with MONITORAPP for three years now, can you tell us about the culture and mood at MONITORAPP so far?
It seems like we have a culture that values and shares the organization's philosophy, and an environment where we can focus on our work. I wonder if there is a trend of changing corporate culture these days, and with the increasing discourse on empathy and inclusion, there seems to be a lot of movement within MONITORAPP to eradicate toxic behaviors and perspectives. As a company that needs to grow and develop, there are shortcomings, but it seems that employees are aware of the shortcomings and work with respect for each other and in line, so they can focus on their work with peace of mind.Q3. How does it feel to be selected as a Compliment Relay runner?
As a new team, we have a lot of work to do and limited time, so we often rush to finish tasks.
As a result, there are times when I honestly don't finish my work to my own standards.
As a new team, I sometimes felt like I was spinning my wheels on the floor, but I was grateful that someone thought I was doing a good job.
Whether it's work or life, I need to be motivated, and I'm relieved that we've built flexibility into our company life.
Q4. What do you think is the reason why you were selected as a Compliment Relay runner?
I think the biggest reason is that it stands out because it is in charge of external work than developers.
I think it's because they endured difficult and difficult situations, even when someone easily let go of the string. Even in a situation where it was difficult to create good work performance, I maintained my desire to improve in a better direction than to be skeptical. I think such a motif impressed other colleagues to some extent.Q5. What are your goals for MONITORAPP in 2023?
Increased work performance and personal empowerment. To be more specific, the content creation team I'm working with is a new team,
so there are a lot of shortcomings, but my goal is to make it run stably and well.
It is also about fostering a positive team culture and operating human resources stably. When human resources are not stable, other members create anxiety.
I want to create a team environment in which team members can work with affection with a comfortable mind, and on the other hand, maintain a healthy tension to carry out a driven work.
Q6. How would you like to see MONITORAPP grow in the medium to long term and what are your expectations for the company?
I believe that our clear direction as a global platform company has been communicated to all employees.
I hope that these goals will be realized in a solid and stable manner without any haste.
I think it's as important to figure out if this is the path I can take as it is to figure out what path I should take.
I deeply believe that everyone should look back to see if they are on the right track, even if they are moving forward every moment, not just occasionally.
I also hope that we can move further toward a work efficiency and performance-oriented culture rather than a high-context culture
in order to fulfill one of MONITORAPP's core values, which is communication, which is a balance of horizontal and vertical communication.
Q7. Can you recommend two keywords that you would recommend joining MONITORAPP?
There is a clear line between the individual and the company. Sometimes other organizations find it difficult to create inconvenience due to excessive attention to other employees,
but it's great that MONITORAPP doesn't. Also, co-workers are kind.
It seems that most of the employees respect their positions even if the teams are different and the tasks are different.
Derek was very candid in his interview and we had a great conversation. I think this honesty is one of the small factors that make MONITORAPP grow. This concludes the May Compliment Relay runner's interview, and we'll be back with the June Compliment Relay runner. Until then, stay safe in the hot weather. Thank you.
